District Governor Earl Sears -- Biography
A Little About Earl
District Governor Earl Sears is married to Janet R. Sears, who is also a Lion. They have six adult children: three girls and three boys. One of their sons and his wife are Lions in Ohio.
Earl earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from University of Nebraska. He is retired from Air Force after 25 years of service. He also worked for the State of Wyoming for 14 years as Personnel Manager.
Earl has been a Lion for 37 years and has perfect attendance for every one of them!
Some of the offices that he has held include: Club President; MD-15 Youth Exchange Chairman 1982-96; Club Secretary 1988-96 Lander Wyoming Lions Club; Zone Chairman; Region Chairman; Deputy District Governor; District Governor 1986-67 for District 15-B in Wyoming; Council Chairman MD-15 Wyoming 1987-88; MD-15 Leadership Chairman 1987-1992; LEAP Chairman MD-15 1992-1995; Council Chairman MD-15 1985-1986; Secretary of Russellville Lions Club 1996-2007; MD-7 Youth Exchange Chairman 1997-2007; MD-7 MERL team 2001-2006; District 7-I Extension Chair 1998-2007; District 7-I District Governor
1998-99 and again in 2009-2010.Earl has chartered 21 new Lions clubs and has sponsored over 400 new Lions.
In his spare time, Earl has attended seven International conventions and six USA-Canada Forums.
Awards for Lionism:
For his dedication and service, Earl has earned the following:
Melvin Jones Fellow with 3 Diamonds;
Dalstrom Award from Mid-South Sight & Hearing Center;
International Presidents Leadership Medal;
International President’s Medal; and
Seven commendation letters from International Presidents.
